I've only punched leather-based with it, but it goes by means of leather-based like a scorching knife through butter. The only other problem is altering bits and dies. It simply takes more time, but unless you are in a real rush, it's still value each second it takes to make the changes. It has a depth stop that makes it actually handy for punching successive holes, as in stitching leather. The merchandise is made in Taiwan, however I'd nonetheless highly suggest it to anybody who wants a REAL punch that requires little effort to use.
